Another Promotion

One world is dying through heat. The other is dying through war. One girl is asked to save both.

The planet of Raetha is crumbling. The seaside town of Firethorne, the home of Sienna Ashton and her family, was once a place of agriculture and riches. But the tides are turning, andthe air is growing hotter. Each year, more and more food isburned and ruined. The mines of Firethorne are becoming moredangerous, with the sudden increase in tunnel collapses and deaths. As Raetha is at the brink of summer, Sienna's family is hit with yet another blow: Grandfather is dying from anunknown disease.

With the comfort of her friend Cad and learning to ride the local griffins, Sienna tries to push the thoughts of Grandfather away.
Of course, that changes when Grandfather sends for Sienna to tell her a story about a place called Earth. It is on Earth, he says, that the griffins gain unimaginable powers to stop the destruction on the planet. As his last breath leaves his body, Sienna feels doubt stirring her heart.
Was Grandfather too far gone to take seriously, or was he telling the truth?

A Little Something Called Happiness

I knew a man that just died of cancer. He lived to make people happy through his music and his personality- so much, that he lied months after he was diagnosed and said his cancer had gone away, we believe.
Truth was, it was still there. He just told us all it was gone so we could be happy.
This has inspired me to live happily and to live to make people happy. Above all should be happiness.

Some Finds!

Well, fellow people of the blogosphere, I've had a chance to dive into two exceptional Inkpop projects in the past couple days. One has been in the works for a while, but the other is brand new. I feel they both deserved a little extra attention.

Divided
Someone always has to die.
Any normal grade-twelve girl would be concerned with the
life-or-death issue of getting a date for prom. Instead, Gen is
more worried about such trivial things as her comatose friend or
the mysterious return of her imaginary childhood playmate. And
the strange men that broke into her house? Well, that's
obviously too small of an issue to even bother thinking about.
Obviously.
Caught up in a strange series of events, Genevieve King is forced to accept that all is not as it seems, starting with herself. Canshe avoid hurting others during her attempts to right the wrongs made centuries ago? Is she even right to?

I, myself, found Divided to be a refreshing read. With Lydia's fresh writing style and believable characters, it was a relief to read and comment instead of a labor. Lydia recently told me she was getting ready to start revising, so I'm sure she could use your comments! I recommend this new look on the paranormal genre to anyone out there!

Next is something I came across in the middle of the night last night, and I'm glad I did.
Angel Or Demon

If an angel appeared after you'd been cruelly
murdered, would you follow him into an unknown
world and leave everything you knew behind?
Savannah Johnson did not believe in angels or demons, but when
she is murdered on the first day of her summer holidays she is
forced into a world where nothing is simple and secrets lurke
behind every corner. She wasn't meant to die at sixteen
years old - she had plans to go to university, get a job, have a
family and finally grow old...but they had plans for her too.

I found what I read of Angel or Demon to be a very stimulating, somewhat thought provoking read. It would also be classified as paranormal, but in a whole different ballpark than Divided. Angel or Demon was just uploaded, so the author could use any feedback you could give.
